June is Men’s Health Month
Men’s Health Week is celebrated each year as the week leading up to and including Father’s Day (June is also Men’s Health Month). The purpose of Men’s Health Week/Month is to heighten the awareness of preventable health problems and encourage early detection and treatment of disease among men and boys.
On June 22, the Community Health Equity and Education Team will host a Wellness Expo from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at the William Wells Brown Community Center. To encourage men to attend, the team is doing special outreach promoting free health screenings available the day of the event. However, the event isn’t only for men. Various screenings will be available, with activities for the entire family. Click on the posters above to get more information about the event. Then, contact Greg Hiles to get copies you can distribute to help us promote the event.
One of the posters describing health screening and checkup guidelines makes the perfect gift to share with any dad you know on Father’s Day, June 16. We’ll be encouraging our followers on Facebook and Twitter to share it. Will you help us do the same?
