Wellness Program receives Diamond Award

The Employee Wellness Committee recently celebrated the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department receiving the Bluegrass Wellness at Work’s Healthiest Places to Work in the Bluegrass Diamond Award, which was announced a few weeks ago at the United Way 5K on the Runway.

What does this recognition mean?

  • The Diamond Level (the highest out of five levels) was awarded to organizations with innovative worksite wellness programs; our wellness time paid off incentive process was noted as one of the reasons for selection
  • Out of 38 participating local businesses, we were one of only eight recognized at the Diamond Level
    • Other companies recognized as this level: Blue and Co., LLC; Bluegrass Family Health; Central Bank; Dean Dorton Allen Ford; Gray Construction; Lexington’s Real Estate Company; R. J. Corman Railroad Group
  • Other local organizations have expressed interest in looking at our wellness program in order to build similar models for their own companies

The Employee Wellness Committee wants to thank those who participated in the first year of the program, and looks forward to continuing to make improvements to the program in upcoming years. Members of the committee include: Doraine Bailey, Carla Basanta, Natalie Bentley, Angela Brumley-Shelton, Shannon Cropper, Michelle Donaghy, Allison Evans, Kevin Hall, Greg Hiles, Nancy Hiner, Jessica Jackson, Mark Johnson, Marla Moore, Estephany Romero, Melissa Smith, Darin Swartz and Janey Wendschlag.
