The kynect retail store opened Thursday, Nov. 13, at Fayette Mall, giving winter shoppers the chance to sign up for health insurance in between browsing for sweaters and shoes.

Gov. Steve Beshear gave a short speech to officially open the store, which will have enrollment through February. Ruben Perez provided information and pamphlets about programs, and Carla Basanta and Karen Cecil helped with flu shots. The trio will return to the store for two days in January for the same activities.
