LFHCD takes part in annual Fatherhood Initiatives Program

 

The Lexington-Fayette County Health Department took part in the Fayette County Fatherhood Initiatives Program’s 13th annual Father’s Day family celebration June 17 at Douglass Park.

Julie Moon, Infectious Disease team leader, and Nyah Bonds, LFCHD student intern, worked a table at the event as they distributed more than 1,000 condoms, discussed safe sex practices and ways to lower high-risk behaviors and provided information about LFCHD services/hours of operations.

Catherine Lowe, Child Care Health Consultant trainer,  worked a table at the event distributing CCHC bags, stress balls promoting colon cancer screening, information on salt intake, sun safety, preventing fireworks accidents, safe sleep, smoking cessation and asthma.
