CHEE reps LFCHD at Roots & Heritage Festival
We provided health information Sept. 9 at the annual Lexington Roots & Heritage Festival. Attendees completed interactive handouts to assess their risk of Type 2 diabetes, with information on resources provided for pre-diabetes, diabetes and weight loss classes. Our Community Health Equity and Education team also distributed information on health department services, including Safe Sleep for Infants, heat stroke, care safety, child care and much more. They also gave away a variety of items, such bandage holders from Safe Kids Fayette County, Zika coloring books and CCHC cloth bags.
CHEE representatives Holly Clendenin, Catherine Lowe, Nancy Hiner, Devon Millsaps and Sara McMahan worked the event, and Rick Cundiff helped with the set up and take down of the booth at the event.
