2017 Thanksgiving luncheon

The 2017 Employee Association Thanksgiving luncheon was a huge success. We collected donations from over 60 employees for the HANDS program!


Congratulations to Elayne Bailey and Haiping Kou, our door prize winners. The Lexington-Fayette County Health Department is thankful for each and every one of you!

Congratulations to the winners of the Soup and Chili Cook-Off! First place went to Katrina Howard’s Potato Soup and second place went to Tara Mason’s Paleo Jalapeno Popper Chicken Chili.


Jaime Lundblad won the pumpkin decorating contest.

EA hosts annual picnic for staff


The Employee Association (shown above) held its annual staff picnic, featuring a mix of food, games and karaoke. LFCHD employees dined on hamburgers, barbecued chicken, salads, chips, cookies, brownies and oranges, while being entertained by a rotating group of co-workers who signed up for karaoke!

Flowers, desserts highlight LFCHD Valentine’s Day

Thanks to the Employee Association, LFCHD staff got the chance to celebrate Valentine’s Day with special carnations and an array of desserts. Be sure to check out the pictures below (click on an image to see a larger version). Congratulations to Karen Cecil and Roanya Rice on winning the giant Hershey bars. A special thanks to Dr. Humbaugh for purchasing a carnation for everyone in the department!

Employee Association hosts annual Winter Event

With a photo booth, a buffet feast, prizes and even a hypnotist, Friday’s annual Winter Event proved to be an absolute hit among staff!.

‘Thankful’ tree on display


At the Thanksgiving luncheon, the Employee Association asked staff to write down things they’re thankful for on a small note card. Those cards have been put on a special tree that’s now on display in Conference Room C on the third floor. Be sure to read over your co-workers’ comments when you’re in the area.

2016 Chili Master crowned

The competition was fierce, but in the end only one person could go home with the crown.

After staff tasted the multiple batches of chili, they cast their vote for the best, and the winner was Chris Washintgton’s “Down South Sizzle.” Katrina Howard’s “White Chicken Chili” finished second.

Hosted by the Employee Association, the event gave employees the chance to enjoy some chili, chat with each other, and participate in a cupcake walk.

Employees also had a chance to enter into various raffles. The winners were:

Employee Association provides free Kona Ice to staff

The Employee Association offered a summer treat to LFCHD staff today by providing a free Kona Ice to the 61 people who took part. Thanks to EA for providing this!

Davis and Basanta celebrate upcoming retirement

Lois Davis and Carla Basanta received their clocks on July 26 in honor of their upcoming retirement. The Employee Association, their co-workers, and family honored them at a celebration on Wednesday afternoon. Davis has a total of 20 years of service and Basanta has a total of 23 years of service. We wish them the best of luck on their next adventure in life!
