Kay joins LFCHD as new Finance Officer

cara.jpg

The Lexington-Fayette County Health Department would like to welcome Cara Kay as its new Finance Officer. Cara was born and raised in Midway and graduated from the University of Kentucky with a degree in accounting.

Upon graduation, she moved to Cincinnati to work in the accounting department at Fifth Third Bank. She later moved back to Lexington as the controller for Fifth Third’s central Kentucky affiliate. She has spent the past six years as the CFO of American Founders Bank, where she was responsible for all finance, accounting and human resource functions. There, she served as a key member of management responsible for recapitalizing the bank, reducing the likelihood of bank failure.

Cara comes to the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department hoping to add value to the families living in her community.

Cara and her husband, James, live in Versailles. They have a 15-month-old son, Kieran, and they are expecting their second son later this summer.

She brings an extensive background in finance, accounting and management to the department.
